quote from iravic..." is it possible to change the URL for key updater in the panel so that this feature works again?"    This would be nice

yes it's my quote, but I cannot find in which thread I said that Roll Eyes it would be nice indeed. but I think it involves creation and maintaning of a url. so probably the manual way is the way for now.

yes, I had the same problem recently.
first thing to do is to switch off authorisation in expert setup. secondly, save the file instead of opening it and change
    host
    to
    root:password@host
somehow its possibly to remember password so vlc never stumbles again. I did that but don't remember now, all I can say try searching "streaming vlc" on the forum.

    ok,
if you go to setup button, expert setup, and somewhere in the middle "use http authentification", untick this one.
then when you click on vlc button in enigma web page, instead of open select save file. then open that file and insert:
    root:passwd@XXXXX
in front of the hostname (XXXXX) so for example it may look like this:
    http://root:passwd@192.168.1.5:31339/0,0102,0202,0282,0296,1ffe

use your password instead of passwd. then save the file and double click on it. it should now stream the program.

try this first. but there is a way for vlc or perhaps browser to remember password so it works when you open video.mu3 file instead of saving and opening it again. i am not sure how I did it. i had issues before but then they were gone, and i don't remember what i did to make it work.

Where is the enigma web page?
is that the page that opens when i type in the ip of my box?
if it is then when i click on it it tries to open windows media player
if i left click it ,it also opens windows m player
right clicking gives me no options

Yes, it's the considered Enigma web interface

It's probably because, on your PC, the files .m3u are associated with Windows Media Player
If you change this association, to VLC, it'll open VLC when receives the .m3u file from the box

Another way to change this association is to install/reinstall VLC on your PC, with the plugin option for IE or Firefox, depending on which browser you're using.
That'll propose you to associate .m3u with VLC

yes, web interface, it's when you type box' IP in t he browser. you should change settings in your browser so that it does not open a file automatically but asks you whether you want to open or save to disk.
