Hi Guys
my son wants to buy a dm 800 hd and he has asked me to get some prices for him.
I have tried to persuade him to get a bit more cash together and buy a vu+duo but he doesn't want to spend that much on a linux receiver.
I have checked the web on the dm800hd and I am a little confused with the prices.
I have found 2 sites selling this box one at £188 + delivery and the other at £189 including delivery all the other sites appear to be selling at around the £350 to £400 mark. So, are the cheaper prices cloned boxes or are the more expensive ones charging to much.
The cheaper websites are dvbmonkey and dreamboxshops.
Thanks
Regards
jcl

    the cheaper ones are clones
the ave price for a gen unit are around £350/400
a good alternitive is the VU+ solo retails at about £280
clones can be ok, but there are issues

Another aspect to consider: if he is not going to use it for all things-Linux, but rather just watch TV, AZBox 9000 Premium is top notch in terms of build quality, and it can do everything out of the box, including cccam but client-mode only.
Cheapest solution of all is any one of these HD boxes that run proprietary software, can do everything, and have a built-in cccam client. User "TheRookie" mentioned "Starview", do a search on the forum.
