S** Card Intermittent in EDG-NEMESIS 4.4

Glad to hear its working well now ... thats great news .. also shows how difficult it can be to sort out the card reader speeds, i think a few people operate on different speeds (albeit on different boxes and images)

Now
1/ i think it should autoupdate

2/ open a web browser and put in your box ip followed by 16001
eh 192.168.1.111:16001

and then click on the entitlements button

just seen baz's post
(by doing the config as baz says will allow you to do a 2/ above)

put in your password/login....you will then see whats what

ive got a nds card aswell but its not sly. its a dsmart on 42east turksat. im running edge 4.4 and cccam2.1.3

i never used my nds card in my 9100 yet. as you set up nds in your box and some one like me new to this, how would you guide me in setting up my nds card.

Pleased that you got it going in the end,just a small point,you made comment on becoming either yourself or the postings becoming confusing,I agree,this happens when a thread drifts like yours did without any conclusion,for my part I was trying to pull your thoughts back together and to identify exactly what you had done,at no time did you really do that until you posted where you had got to in page(I think) 9,you did start the thread with your problem and from there it drifted.Point of the exercise is that if members who read this thread look at your post of :

         Just reinstalled EDG 4.4 in flash.

1.Factory Reset front of receiver
2.Installed noboot image ok
3.Another Factory Reset
4.Serial flashed EDG 4.4  OK
5,Set up Dish and Sat Channels from Dreamset
6.Extra URL
7.Installed CCcam 2.1.4   
8.     "          "       cfg
9.Entered boxkey in cfg     ** ** ** **
10.Changed to 450000 as some one suggested
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 4500000     
#SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci1 6000000


and give details of their problems in this type of format it helps members to try to solve them.

Install CCcam 2.1.4   
8.     "          "       cfg
9.Enter boxkey in cfg     ** ** ** **   this is the hex dec  of your s*y receiver serial no.
10.
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3680000     
#SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci1 3680000
If you require lower slot then remove # from line
Should work

That was certainly an interesting one wasn't it, a card that speeded up when you slow it down as it were 
The only thing I can think of is that the chip must have been getting hot at the six and five meg settings but at 3.8 it stayed ok.
I can't figure out why it was ok though on the UR image if that was the case.

Who thought of trying the lower speed? Rob, Well done mate nice one. What made you think of trying that?
I think we would have got there if he had been able to try another card because a different chip would have given different results and given a clue.
Certainly one to remember.
I hope the members appreciate that we are not a paid organisation and in no way associated with the manufacturers and that all the work we do and help we give is free and in our own time. It is my opinion that when considerable time is spent it would be a nice gesture to make a donation to the forum to thank the members for the assistance, there aren't many forums I know of where members will stick with you for hours and days until the problem is solved. Famous, if you have a problem with your card, you should start a thread of your own and not hijack this one, if everyone now starts helping you in this thread it will make this thread very long and complicated, it's fairly long as it is. Also when people are searching the forum for a solution, it makes it difficult for the search to find information if it's all muddled in the same threads

Agree with you Bob,

it was a real head banging problem this one, but eventually the issue was found, as we know there seems to be different speeds set for each card, so its a bit trial and error

As you say well done to everyone, although we can't stick with problems personally from start to finish, we do help each other out by chipping in and offering advice.

I see you have Andromeda in flash...your views on this image please.
Is there a cpanel to download softcams accessible.?
Could I then put EDG 4.4 in multiboot?

Hi,
Andromeda uses older more stable code, so could likely cause issues if you have this in flash and then EDG in multiboot.
Andromeda was initially developed as a quick and easy way for people with sly cards to get things up and running quickly. Now we have the new white cards means a little work is required on Andromeda. I am hoping to produce an updated image real soon to work with the white cards right out from the start.

I use Andromeda in flash without any multiboot as it suits my needs, but if you are planning to run multiboot etc ..i'd avoid for the moment

Andromeda image is our own in house image and as such Rob would give a biased view.you didn't ask me so I can reply.
Its lean and mean..All who have tried it are happy with it,it is meant though to be used in flash only,  Dunc.

Did not know that, I was hoping to be able to load Multi with EDG 4.4  but Rob advises not to.

Rob is absolutely correct to advise you not to. The way the system works is that the images in the MMC or HDD use the drivers of the image in flash, so if the image in flash is a lot older than the image in multiboot you will find the mutiboot images will not work as they should because of using the older drivers in flash

As things have developed on the TM I would say stick with edg4.4,unless you fancy having a go with the multiboot set up,then as of now its not really worth doing anything else.For real fun with this box you should have owned it a couple of years ago.
